Menendez Brothers Reunited In Prison — After 22 Years!

The infamous Menendez brother have finally been reunited — in prison!

As RadarOnline.com has learned, Erik Menendez and Lyle Menendez were kept at separate jails since there were given life sentences without the possibility of parole following their parents’ 1989 murders.

A spokesperson for California’s Department of Corrections told The Blast that Erik, 47, was transferred to Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility — where his brother is currently housed — this Wednesday.

Erik’s confirmed that the “heartfelt reunion” between the two already happened, and Erik is now “settling in” to his new prison home.

The transfer came after Lyle, 50, asked to be housed in the same jail as his sibling. After some deliberation, the Department of Correction decided “There was no reason that they could not be housed at the same institution,” according to the report.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, the Menendez brothers killed their wealthy parents on August 20, 1989 inside their Beverly Hills mansion. Lyle then called 911 screaming: "Somebody killed my parents!” before letting police in to investigate the scene. While Erik and Lyle were considered suspects, they were not immediately asked to undergo gunshot residue tests, which prevented investigators from quickly solving the murders.

Police became increasingly suspicious of the brothers when they began spending their parents’ millions just days after their tragic deaths. It is estimated that Lyle and Erik spent $700,000 in the months between the killings and their arrests, according to various reports.

Erik eventually confessed to the murders to his psychologists, who came forward after receiving threats from Lyle. The Menendez brothers claimed they killed their parents because their dad sexually abused them and their mom did nothing to stop it. They were sentenced to two consecutive terms of life in person on March 20, 1996.

Lyle Menendez and Erik Menendez were sent to different prisons, and — though they supposedly played chess through snail mail — hadn’t seen each other ever since.
