Tori Spelling, step away from the glue gun. The reality TV star turned author released an angry diatribe against former idol Martha Stewart in her new book, Spelling It Like It Is, after a long-awaited September 2010 meeting with the craft mogul didn't exactly end with the two as BFFs.

For years, amateur crafter Spelling had considered Stewart to be "Iconic. My inspiration," she writes. "The one person I'd always wanted to meet.

When her children's book, Presenting … Tallullah! was released in the fall of 2010, she asked her publicist to pull some strings and get her a promo spot on the show, and she complied.

The day of the show, September 21, "I wanted to make a good impression on Martha," Spelling admits. "And I was worried that my voice would crack or anything else might happen to make the moment less than perfect."

Her hope, she says, was, "She'd meet me and think, Wow, Tori really can craft. She's cool. She can hang out with me."

But they didn't exactly hit it off from the start. "I walked out on stage and the first thing Martha said to me was, 'You're going to craft in those heels?'" Spelling writes. "I said, 'What? Martha, doesn't everyone craft in Loubutins?' I thought it was worth a chuckle but got nothin'"

Things only got more tense from there, when Martha dressed-down a staff member for forgetting to provide tape for Spelling.

"She didn't raise her voice, but the tone was not nice," Spelling says. "In a heartbeat, I got exactly what type of person she was. Me and Martha, our buddy future, it wasn't happening."

Still, Spelling had her publicist ask if they could pose for a photo together. Once it was done, "Martha put down her craft and walked offstage without so much as a glance in my direction," Spelling claims. "We were done. I was horrified."

"After my disappointing encounter with Martha," Spelling says, she only became more determined to become the kinder, gentler version of the original lifestyle guru. "Martha Stewart, with her cold, relentless perfection, is a dying breed," Spelling insists. "Who wants that?!"
