Kody Brown and his four wives have been outspoken about their polygamist lifestyle but as their reality show enters a fourth season he told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview that the Sister Wives stars still struggle for acceptance outside of their own religious community.

Having uprooted the family from Utah to Nevada, Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn are all living together again for the first time in two years with their 17 children but the said that they still face judgment for their lifestyle choices.

“I don’t think the impact of our story has been that broad,” Kody said, explaining why people still accuse them of breaking the law with their marriages. “We still face discrimination. Not in Nevada, but other places.”

Kody is only legally married to Meri, but he and the rest of his wives no longer hide their unconventional situation.

“I guess people don’t get out that much. It is strange that some people still have opinions that we have to conform to all of society’s wishes. That’s not for us.”

He says people who were part of the Warren Jeffs FLDS were very oppressed but that is not how he and his wives live.

“I’m the puppet and I have four puppeteers!”

A major theme this season for the Sister Wives is the decision that Meri must make about whether or not she wants to have another child with Kody, via IVF or using Robyn as a surrogate.

In the exclusive sneak peek obtained by RadarOnline.com the two sister wives discuss Meri’s desire to have a baby.

She told RadarOnline.com that it is a “vulnerable thing.”

“I need to make the right decision for myself,” Meri said.

“I have been saying a lot of prayers and talking to Kody and looking inward and making sure the decision is for the right reason.”

Sister Wives premieres on TLC Sunday, July 21 at 9/8c on TLC.
