Dr. Conrad Murray plans to surrender to authorities Friday, his lawyers said, regardless of whether or not the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charges him in connection with the death of music legend Michael Jackson.

"We are going to be at the courthouse at 1:30 p.m. PST for his surrender," Miranda Sevcik, a spokeswoman for Murray's lawyers told the Associated Press on Friday. "We see no reason to perpetuate the arbitrary situation any longer."

Dr. Conrad Murray To Face Judge Friday In Michael Jackson's Death

Murray, Michael Jackson's live-in doctor, has been reportedly at the center of a power struggle this week between police and prosecutors, who have clashed upon the terms and details of how the Las Vegas-based cardiologist should be brought into custody.

Not so, says a source close to the investigation, who told RadarOnline.com Thursday night: "there is no feud between the DA and LAPD; no case is filed, and I honestly do not know what will happen tomorrow."

Sevcik said it's "ridiculous" the case has "been dragging on this long."

"We've been here all week long, for God's sake," she said. "What's the hold up? To us, this is showmanship and we are just done. We know he's going to be charged with involuntary manslaughter and we are ready with a counterargument. He's not guilty -- that's our argument."

Murray has been in the limelight since Jackson's June 25, 2009 death, which has been ruled a homicide. Much of the ensuing controversy has been focused on Propofol, a strong anesthetic Murray was giving Jackson. Murray, through his attorney, said he didn't give the Thriller singer anything that "should have" killed him.

Janet Jackson, as well as other members of the Jackson family, have  publicly said they  holds Murray responsible for Michael’s  death.
