Christina El Moussa Finally Tells All On Heartbreaking Divorce
Christina and Tarek El Moussa's split was a long time coming, RadarOnline.com can reveal!
"Like any couple, we had our share of issues," Christina told PEOPLE. "But we went through a lot in a short amount of time."
RadarOnline.com reported that the couple battled Tarek's cancer and Christina's infertility at the same time. Tarek is now in remission, and the couple welcomed their son Brayden in September 2015.
Christina, 33, went back to filming Flip or Flop just a month later — and it ultimately led to the demise of their marriage.
"It was too soon for me," she told PEOPLE. "I was overwhelmed. The tension between me and Tarek was high."
"We weren't able to properly communicate anymore," she explained. "It got to the point where we weren't even driving to set together."
The couple separated in May after Tarek, 35, ran off into the woods with a gun, and he filed for divorce in January.
He moved on with one of his kids' nannies for a short time — and Christina was caught dating a contractor.

"Tarek and I don't discuss each other's personal lives," she said of their futures apart. "It is what it is and we are going through a divorce and eventually we will be dating other people. I'm happy for him and whatever steps he takes in his life and I just hope he's happy."
"It's invigorating to know I am starting over," she concluded. "It's fun to be able to create my own destiny right now."
