Bake Sale Bust! Teen Who Sold Pot-Laced Brownies To Buy Prom Dress Now Faces Deportation

A California teen may be deported after she tried to raise money for a prom dress by selling pot-laced brownies, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Saira Munoz was sentenced to four years of probation and nine days in prison this week for selling brownies made with marijuana to fellow high school students.

The River Valley High School teen, who was 18 at the time, sold the drug-laced treats during a bake sale, but her plan was foiled after a student was rushed to the hospital after noshing on the tasty cake.

After she was arrested, police learned that she had hired a fellow student to sell her brownies. According to police, she was charged with employing a minor to sell marijuana -- a felony.

This week, she also learned during her sentencing that she could be returning to Mexico.  She came to the United States with temporary permission in 2000. After the Sutter County Probation Department called the feds about her conviction, she now faces deportation.

A current River Valley student who knows Muñoz, Carlos Robles, told CBS Sacramento, “There’s people that deserve to be deported, and she’s not one of them.”

“She was just a very positive person,” he said. “I just don’t like the turnout of this.”
