Jenny McCarthy earned the wrath of Amanda Bynes when she Tweeted about the police being at her house, but her explanation and apology on The View rang a little hollow after she left a few details out of the story and then said Amanda has “a possible mental disorder.”

The Singled Out star looked stunning with funky pink streaks in her hair while joining Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd as a co-host on the show and told them what transpired after she wrote to troubled Amanda.

“At night you know how you repeat stories you read? So I repeated that the police were at Amanda Bynes’ house,” Jenny said.

Not exactly the whole truth.

Jenny’s first Tweet read “Police are at @AmandaBynes house,” but a second one that she sent right after said: “I hope they get her help. Enough of this circus. She needs help.”

She deleted them from her account after Amanda slammed her.

“I guess Amanda Bynes responded to me saying I was an ugly 80-year-old bleep. I just went ‘Oh no,’” Jenny said about the 27-year-old star’s reaction.

Amanda actually wrote: “I need help? What are u talking about? Aren’t u 50 years old? I’m 27, u look 80 compared to me! Why are you talking about me?” and “You’re ugly! Police weren’t at my house old lady! Shut the f**k up!”

Jenny said when she saw Amanda’s Tweets she backtracked.

“I immediately said ‘sorry girl, just looking out for you.’ And the backlash between her fans and my mommy warriors was a war going on for three hours.”

Sherri asked her if she was “scared” when Amanda wrote to her.

“Yes it did,” Jenny admitted.

“That’s somebody that I’m not going to start a war with.”

Joy cracked a joke about Jenny being an old b**ch and Jenny tried to apologize but ended up saying the thing that Amanda hates the most – that she has a mental disorder.

“I feel so sorry for her. Why would you talk bad or upset someone who has a possible mental disorder? So I’m going to stay out of it.”
