its amazing to me how when mel gibson had a comment about jews his fallout was tremendous his movie was pulled backing stopped lay people and actors alike totally were against him even though he apologized "over and over and over" tried to meet with jewish community leaders and take jewish course he was not forgiven so easily.
Imus has a long history of "black" shock jokes surely we are not the only ethnic group to poke fun at or hype on stereotypic views back we always seem to be the butt of his jokes to me that signals hidden prejudice. so i have a hard time trying to accept his apologizes when the same thing continues and the reaseon it continues is becausse politician, wealthy socialites and "big shots" say stupid things like if it were anyone else i would not accept it but he's my friend really if it is wrong for a stranger it is wrong for your friend it doesn't help our society that is multi-cultural and intolerant of each others differences to keep overlooking those who want to keep the ambers hot. i accept an i'm sorry from anyone who is not a repeat offender sometimes we can get caught up in a joke because it seems funny but there a consequences to everything in like and his firing is his consequence and when he gets hired by someone else- and he surely will- this will serve a a cork for his big mouth when he is thinking of a racial comment P.s. his comments about them looking like thugs was free speech, funny and harmless that was a universal comment( referring to the white, latin, and black team member) notice how we are not without a funny bone as a black culture no one was singled out but just as soon as you added the nappy-headed portion it became racist. hopefully imus will read these blogs and get a lesson in free-speech 101
