My last flight was delayed for "avitronics" maintenance. Suspiciously, we boarded as soon as a flight attendant showed up.

I heard it was the new swimsuits.

Who would bother tying together the front legs of anything but a domestic dog? See: Occam's razor.

Oh no, my friend, this is the FOURTH Mummy movie. In a similar state of disbelief, I had to check his IMDb page the other day for the release date of the original, and, yeah, this one follows The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001) and Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride (2004).

Hah. As if getting it to the top of the list makes it so.

I want one.

One of my students in intro to journalism writing asked if he could cover an AA meeting for the first assignment.

I am not sorry to write a lame sycophantic comment. Choire makes me LOL IRL ALL THE TIME.

And this -- "He just talks a little bit like a Vietnam war vet on the corner with a $5-million audio system backing him up." -- is going to ruin the movie for me the same was Fred Armisen ruined Barack Obama.

I'm having second thoughts about the internet.

I'm glad I read this a few days ago: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/16/DDK011PHMA.DTL

"There has never been a situation quite like this: Audiences for the biggest blockbuster of the summer are flooding in, not just hoping an actor will be good but also expecting and needing him to be absolutely amazing. ... The truth is, Ledger's death was a surprise to everybody, and 'The Dark Knight' neither hints at it nor makes sense of it. Nothing could."

This ends like No Country for Old Men.

The point is that the composite image of all the Obama rumors is patently absurd. Muslim terrorist Barack Hussein would never marry militant womanist Michelle, and neither would ever dap. These things cannot all be true simultaneously.

And lets not forget that Beck is the reason Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake were stalked by Scientologists. Vanity Fair said so. I hope Whitney didn't accidentally yell at one from that apparatus.

Oh come on--this is kind of funny:
