If the Republicans re-frame the conversation to 'smart people are snobby and out to get you with their smartiness and re-usable grocery bags' which of course are not bad things, how do you convince people that these ideas are irrational? Because telling this crowd that they're irrational just fuels them more.

It's the same argument the boomers make. We're not optimistic enough. Hell, we're just realistic.
