-remember--The criteria for his show is SHOCK.
I remember watching the riots on television in Harlem many years ago when Rudy Giuliani was mayor. I am still asking myself the question why Giuliani did not have Sharpton jailed when he incited the mob to murder the 'cops'. I am tired of only one viewpoint being acceptable. Even the ignorant KKK, Skinheads, & members of all dissident groups have the right to free speech. Of course, I have no idea why anyone would wish to listen to these aforementioned diatribes. The most important quote that applies here is: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."---The Friends of Voltaire. THE POINT? The point I am making is thus: Everyone has the right to free speech. Lately that only seems true if you are any other race than Caucasian.
Unfortunately in today's America you may only exercise that right (free speech) within your own home, and then only in a whisper, if it doesn't meet Politically Correct viewpoints. So, Imus should be fired if he loses listeners causing a loss of revenue to the station, but not for statements made that are not the viewpoint of the stations'. Especially after he has apologized. The criteria for his show is SHOCK. He was the first "Shock Jock."
