The Staples Center opened on October 17, 1999, with a concert by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. It has a capacity of 20,000 spectators.

The memorial will air Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

The Staples Center is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and has hosted the likes of Madonna and Britney Spears.
