Jennifer Capriati was arrested by Coral Gables, Florida police in May 1994 and charged with possession of marijuana after cops went to her hotel room in search of a runaway girl. The tennis star settled the misdemeanor charge by agreeing to attend drug counseling.

NBA superstar Agent Zero (real name: Gilbert Arenas) was busted by Miami Beach cops in May 2006 and charged with resisting an officer without violence. According to police, Gilbert the Great got out of his limo to check on a Washington Wizards teammate (Awvee Storey) who was being arrested for blocking traffic. The Hibachi then allegedly ignored an officer who told him to get back in his vehicle, prompting his arrest. After being transported to the Miami-Dade County jail, the East Coast Assassin posed for the below mug shot. Prosecutors eventually dropped the charge after The Black President made a $250 donation to a police charitable fund.

Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest was arrested on domestic abuse charges in March 2007, and ultimately sentenced to 20 days in jail and community service. Artest would serve only ten days in custody and finished it in a work release program.

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley posed for the below mug shot in March 2009 as he began serving a three-day jail sentence in the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Tent City jail. The TNT studio analyst was arrested in December 2008 in Scottsdale, Arizona on a drunk driving charge. His blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent. Barkley, 46, pleaded guilty in February to two misdemeanors.

PRIL 14–NBA star Carmelo Anthony was arrested this morning by Colorado police and charged with drunk driving. According to cops, the Denver Nuggets forward was pulled over after police saw his silver Mercedes weaving and failing to dim its lights. The two-time All-Star, 23, failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken to a Denver Police Department lockup where he consented to a blood test and posed for the below mug shot.

Baseball/football star Deion Sanders was arrested in June 1996 by Florida cops and charged with misdemeanor trespassing after authorities caught him illegally fishing on multiple occasions.

Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis was arrested by Miami Beach cops in December 2006 on a drunken driving charge after an officer saw him get out of his black Bentley, urinate in the street, and then get back into the car and drive away. The former NL Rookie of the Year, 24, failed a field sobriety test and was taken to a police station where he refused a breath test. Willis was then transported to a Miami-Dade County jail where he posted for a mug shot and was held on $1000 bond.

Hockey superstar Sergei Fedorov was photographed by Royal Oak, Michigan cops in September 2001 after his arrest for driving while impaired. Officers stopped the 31-year-old Detroit Red Wing for running a red light and asked him to take a Breathalyzer test. When the NHL star registered a .09 blood alcohol content–just below the .10 required for a drunk driving charge–Fedorov was hit with the misdemeanor impaired driving rap. In January 2002, the athlete pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year’s probation, directed to perform 100 hours of community service, and ordered to pay fines and court costs.

Like Lawrence Taylor, Michael Irvin is an NFL great with a lengthy legal record and a stint on Dancing With The Stars to his credit. His most notable arrest came in 1996, on charges of cocaine possession. After pleading no-contest to the charges, he received community service, a $10,000 fine and four years probation.

Ex-NBA scoring machine Allen Iverson was arrested in July 2002 by police in Philadelphia on gun and assault charges; all of the charges would be eventually dismissed.

Tennis legend Jimmy Connors was arrested in November 2008 after he allegedly refused to comply with a police order to leave an area outside a California arena. Connors, 56, was nabbed outside Santa Barbara’s Thunderdome, where the top-ranked University of North Carolina basketball team was facing UC Santa Barbara. Connors was busted by the university police and booked into the Santa Barbara County jail, where the below mug shot was snapped.

Former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, 60, was arrested in February 2004 and charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment. According to Philadelphia cops, Smokin’ Joe’s victim was the 44-year-old mother of one of his sons.

After getting plastered (and passing out) at a Hooter’s in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in October 2008, golfer John Daly was carted off to the local jail to sober up. Daly, 42, was booked into the Forsyth County lockup, where the below photo was snapped. He spent a night in custody before being released on an unsecured bond.

Former first-overall MLB pick Josh Hamilton was arrested in May 2005 after he punched and kicked a pal’s truck in a drunken stupor; he was charged with misdemeanor property damage in connection with the incident.

Street-brawling YouTube sensation Kimbo Slice (real name: Kevin Ferguson) was arrested by Miami Beach cops in May 2002 on gun and open container charges. The felony weapons rap against Slice, 28 at the time, was eventually dismissed. He entered a no contest plea to the booze charge and was ordered to attend an alcohol education course. After gaining notoriety via online videos showing him pummeling opponents in brutal backyard fights, Slice made his debut in a sanctioned mixed martial arts (MMA) contest in June 2007, when he defeated former heavyweight boxer Ray Mercer. In May 2008, Slice headlined the first MMA card to be shown in prime time on network television (he defeated James “The Colossus” Thompson in the CBS broadcast).

Former baseball star Chuck Knoblauch posed for this Harris County Sheriff’s Office mug shot in September 2009 after being charged with assault. The four-time All-Star allegedly struck and choked his common-law wife during an argument at their Houston home. Knoblauch, 41, was released from a Texas lockup after posting $10,000 bond. The ex-athlete, who has admitted using performance-enhancing drugs, spent 12 years in the major leagues, and won three World Series titles with the New York Yankees, and one with the Minnesota Twins.

Tony LaRussa, manager of the reigning World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals, was arrested by Jupiter, Florida police in March 2007 and charged with drunk driving. According to cops, LaRussa was found slumped over at the wheel of a Ford SUV that had stopped in a traffic intersection around midnight. LaRussa, 62, failed field sobriety tests and was then transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where Breathalyzer tests administered showed his blood alcohol content to be .093, above Florida’s .08 legal limit. After posting $500 bond, LaRussa was released from the Palm Beach lockup where the below booking photo was snapped.

Wrestler Lex Luger (real name: Lawrence Pfohl) was arrested by Cobb County, Georgia cops in May 2003 after they found illegal bodybuilding drugs in his home while investigating the death of his live-in girlfriend Elizabeth Hulette (the wrestling personality known as Miss Elizabeth). The drug bust was the second time in two weeks that Pfohl was nabbed by cops. He was arrested in April and charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly striking Hulette during a domestic dispute. The second mug shot is from that arrest.

Houston police busted basketball star Scottie Pippen in April 1999 and charged him with drunk driving. Cops pulled over the six-time NBA champ’s Mercedes after seeing him use an oncoming lane to pass cars stopped at a red light. Pippen, who was playing for the Rockets at the time, failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a Breathalyzer. Harris County prosecutors subsequently dismissed the misdemeanor charge.

Plaxico Burress is currently serving a two-year prison sentence after the former New York Giant wide receiver pleaded guilty to weapons charges after a November 2008 incident in which he accidentally shot himself in a New York City nightclub.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was photographed by Atlanta cops in February 2000 after being charged with murder following the stabbing death of two men at a local nightclub. Lewis, who was in town attending Super Bowl XXXIV parties, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor obstruction of justice charge and was sentenced to 12 months probation.

Hoops enigma Dennis Rodman was taken into custody following a 2008 domestic violence incident in Los Angeles; he pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor spousal battery charges and received a year of domestic violence counseling, three years of probation and 45 hours of community service.

NFL running back Ricky Williams was arrested by Texas cops in February 2000 for refusing to sign a traffic ticket. Williams, who was a member of the New Orleans Saints at the time, was pulled over by Austin police after they allegedly saw him swerve his Hummer across lanes without signaling.

Wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin (real name: Steve Williams) pleaded no contest in November 2002 to a misdemeanor charge of assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute. The numbers on the wall apparently indicate the metric system used by the Bexar County (Texas) Sheriff’s office. Austin is about 6′ 3″, or 1.93 meters.

Mike Tyson posed for Arizona sheriff’s deputies in November 2007 after reporting to a Maricopa County lockup to serve a day in jail. The former boxing champ, 41, had pleaded guilty to felony cocaine possession and a misdemeanor drunk driving count following a December 2006 arrest. In addition to a brief jail stay, Tyson was sentenced to three years probation, ordered to perform 360 hours of community service, and directed to undergo drug testing.

Former NFL star Warren Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach cops in February 2010 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. According to police, the 37-year-old announcer for the NFL Network and former contestant on “Dancing With the Stars” pulled his girlfriend out of the hotel room bed they were sharing and demanded that she leave their room. As she began to get dressed, Sapp allegedly grabbed the woman’s neck and began to choke her before eventually pushing her out of the room. When police arrived they observed bruises on her neck and a swollen right knee. Sapp was taken to the Miami-Dade County jail where he posed for the below mug shot and was held on $1500 bond.

Ex-NBA All-Star Charles Oakley was arrested in December 2007 after Auburn, Georgia cops spotted him driving erratically. Though a Breathalyzer test showed Oakley’s blood alcohol content was below the state legal limit, the former New York Knicks forward, 44, was charged with impaired driving (state law makes it a crime if a motorist is “under the influence of alcohol to the extent that it is less safe for the person to drive”). A cooperative Oakley was also cited for failure to maintain a lane. He was then booked into a Gwinnett County lockup and bonded out after about three hours in custody.

Former NHL star (and future Hall of Fame inductee) Chris Chelios was arrested for drunk driving in December 2009 following a traffic stop in suburban Chicago. The former Canadiens, Blackhawks, and Red Wings defenseman was also cited for speeding and improper lane usage. Chelios, 47, was booked at the Westmont Police Department, where he posted bond and posed for the below mug shot.

The NFL’s first overall pick in 2001, Michael Vick, was snapped in September 2007 after he was indicted by a grand jury for dog fighting, and torturing and killing animals. He pleaded guilty and served 21 months in prison, plus a two-month sentence at home.

OJ Simpson is no stranger to jail: the NFL legend was arrested in September 2007 in connection with the armed robbery of a memorabilia dealer in a Las Vegas hotel room. He was found guilty and sentenced to at least nine years in prison, after having been acquitted in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife and a waiter in Los Angeles.

Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested early Thursday, May 6th after being accused of rape at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, New York. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
