At just 13, the Israel-born actress still looked like an innocent little girl when she attended The Professional premiere to promote her first starring role. The teenager’s furry Dalmatian jacket was definitely a  unique look for a Hollywood red carpet.

Pretty Portman was already finding her sense of style in a rainbow-colored plaid dress when she was named one of Hollywood’s “new players” by Premiere Magazine in May 2002.

Portman went on a fashion whirlwind with costar and gal pal Scarlett Johansson when the pair were promoting The Other Boleyn Girl. Natalie, who played Anne Boleyn, wore daring lace with bold blue sashes to celebrate the film in Berlin in February 2008.

Years before she starred in Black Swan, Portman looked like an elegant white swan in a one-shouldered puffball at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS benefit in 2008.

Pink lady! Natalie’s fuchsia strapless mini-dress and bright, kissable lips created a hot look for at the Love And Other Pursuits premiere in 2009.

It’s disco time. Her bedazzled slip dress and disco ball purse at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in November 2009 would have been just as fitting on Dancing With The Stars as it was on the red carpet.

Sophisticated Natalie always steps-up her style in Europe and her floor-length red Rodarte gown at the Venice Film festival last year was no exception.

A few days later, a much more unusually demure Portman promoted the same film in a one-shouldered cocktail dress paired with heavy make up at the Gotham Independent Film Awards.

After recently announcing that she was pregnant, the glowing star accentuated her baby bump in a white Azzaro gown at the SAG Awards in January.

Despite her pregnant belly, Natalie looked like a playful little girl in a Givenchy baby-doll dress at the Independent Spirit Awards this year.

Winner! Portman took the prize for Best Actress and Best Dressed (in many people’s opinions) in a grape-colored Rodarte gown at the Oscars.

After shaving her hair off herself on the set of V For Vendetta, the extreme army boot camp style had grown out into a cute, short crop by the time of the film’s premiere in February 2006.

Celebrating her first role as a leading lady in a romantic comedy, Portman adopted a flawless flapper style and stiffly set 1930s hair for the Garden State premiere in New York in July 2004.

A much-more demure Portman appeared at the royal premiere in London in a flowing burgundy ball gown that would be fit for any king.

With her hair pulled back in an Alice band and wearing heeled pumps, a prim and proper Portman looked more like a Harvard student than a movie star when she visited The Late Show With David Letterman in February 2008.

There was nothing dark about the girly floral number that Natalie wore for the Black Swan screening at the AFI Festival in November 2010.

The ‘real’ Natalie kept her baby-to-be warm against a New York spring chill in May by wrapping up in a cute fur-hooded duffle coat.
