Penelope Cruz is ditching her Los Angeles home as she and husband Javier Bardem are anxious for more living space.

Cruz 38 was asking $3,695,000 US for the 3,334 square foot three bedroom, three and a half bathroom Balinese style mansion just above the Sunset Strip.

But times are tough for celebrities too and it sold for just $2.88 million.

The Oscar winning Spanish star and Bardem have a 2 year old baby Leo Encinas Bardem, sources suggest the pair are thinking about returning to Spain to raise little Leo.

A source said Penelope doesn’t feel that Los Angeles is a proper place to raise a child and besides she is a very private and does not enjoy the enjoy the constant glare of living in southern California as a famous actress .

Cruz purchased the home in 2005 with the intention of spending more time in Los Angeles but because of her filming schedule and dislike for L.A. it’s been more of a crash pad.

The house features a maid’s room, carved wooden doors that go into a courtyard with a fountain. It also has bamboo floors and a large kitchen.

The master bedroom opens to the backyard through French doors and has a wall of wardrobes. The bathroom is big with a dining room table.

The yard features a kidney shaped swimming pool and offers views of downtown LA.

The house wraps around a large terrace at the back of the house. A classic kidney shaped swimming pool is surrounded by several lounging locations and a swatch of grass that gives way to a down slope and downtown views.
