Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein and her husband Lenny are tearing down this historic Miami mansion that was built in the 1920s, much to the outrage of the Miami Design Preservation League.
"We are at a loss for words as one of Miami Beach's most iconic homes meets the bulldozer," Daniel Ciraldo with the Miami Design Preservation League exclusively told RadarOnline.com about the destruction.
Lisa and her husband, a plastic surgeon known as the "Boob God," paid less than $8 million for the home and plan to tear it down and build a 20,000 sq-ft. home on Star Island, Florida. "The home, designed by Florida's first registered architect, stood beautifully on its site for nearly 100 years. Now, the newest owners who purchased it in a foreclosure want to maximize their investment by replacing it with an oversized McMansion," Ciraldo told Radar.
"I just took the first major chunk out of our star island home in high heels. i can do anything in heel lol #demolition #bubbye," Lisa bragged on Twitter about the destruction of the old home.
"We must strengthen our preservation laws to protect our most important structures from unscrupulous owners," Ciraldo said about the RHOM stars Lisa and Lenny Hochstein.
Plans for the house reveal it will have six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a home theater, a game room, a wine cellar, five-car garage and a guest house.
Lisa's husband dismissed the criticism he received for tearing down the historic home, telling the Miami Herald "I'm not trying to make this home a museum. I'm trying to make a home for my family."
The Miami community is outraged that “unscrupulous owners” RHOM star Lisa Hochstein and her husband Lenny are tearing down a historic 1920s estate to build a tacky McMansion and RadarOnline.com spoke exclusively to the Miami Preservation League about the destruction.
