Kardashian's bedraggled look at the MTV VMAs was selected completely by her controlling husband, a source close to the reality star told RadarOnline.com. "Kanye 'designed' their look. He picked the black and white outfits that were contrasting because it thought it looked cool," said the source.

"Kanye was in charge of everything. Kim listens to him and doesn't question him at all," the source explained.

Showing off her 70 pound weight loss in the tiny black dress, Kardashian rocked a disheveled look for the event. "She blindly trusts him when he tells her what to wear because she thinks he is a fashion genius," the source told RadarOnline.com.

The 35-year-old sported a blonde wig earlier in the week but wore her long brunette tresses texturized and tangled for the red carpet. "Kanye tells Kim how to wear her hair. He wanted her to look a certain way for the VMAs," the source said. "He knows what a big night it is and how much attention he gets there. So he tells her exactly what to do. He has a vision and she follows whatever he says."

Known for her naked shoots, Kardashian had her black dress lined to ward off any nip slips or wardrobe malfunctions. "Kanye almost always dictates what Kim wears," the source said.

Kardashian is like a "mannequin for what Kanye wants," the source told RadarOnline.com. "Kim does what Kanye wants and wears what he wants because she believes he has opened all these fashion doors for her and she wants to be in this world."

The source also told RadarOnline.com that West picking out Kardashian's outfit is indicative of their relationship. "Kanye is in control of Kim," said the source.
