Harem pants are an unusual trend that the eccentric celebrity can pull off at times, but continually -- and surprisingly -- the pant resurfaces on runways and in designer ads alike.

The baggy, and often saggy, look is not for everyone -- it is very rarely flattering to even the most toned and taut of derrieres.

Whether cropped or full length, gold shimmer or plain black, pulling off the perfect harem pant is a very difficult task.

Actress Angie Harmon pulled it off however, nailing the look in a Ralph Lauren set. She did not win any points for originality, however, as she blatantly copied the look, head-to-toe, from the designer's Spring 09 runway show.

Rockin' fashionista Fergie of the 'Black Eyed Peas' pumped it in a gold-cropped version of the high-risk style statement in London this weekend. Sexy Diane Kruger attended a Chanel Dinner, dressing up in a white pair for the Tribeca Film Festival last month.

MORE ON:
Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson has an Oscar and a Grammy, but that doesn't make her the second coming of Barbara Eden. The considerably talented performer

sported some harem pants on the Today Show earlier this month and proved that, even in black, the hip pant is not for everyone.

Heck, even designer Rachel Roy, a master of her fashionable craft, missed the style mark in a pair looking Susan Boyle-frumpy.

If you get the harem pant look just right -- you're in luck! Otherwise, is it better to be fashionably safe than sorry? Your choice, folks!
