The Voice officially announced Tuesday that Blake Shelton's lady love, Gwen Stefani, will be replacing rookie "Wrecking Ball" singer, Miley Cyrus, as a judge for Season 12! And according to a source on set, the producers didn't have much choice in the matter! As fans know, Shelton, 40, was not a happy country-crooner when NBC announced that Stefani, 47, was being replaced by Cyrus as a judge on The Voice! However, Shelton sung a quite different note this morning when he announced that he had some "very exciting" news about Season 12!

According to an on-set source, "Blake made it clear to the producers that he wanted Gwen by his side for the upcoming season. It almost seemed like if she did not return then neither would he!" But no worries, Shelton fans: It became official today that Stefani WILL be returning next season as a judge!

As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, Shelton and Stefani fell in love on Season 10 of the show. Since then, their love has only grown. So bringing her back "was kind of a no-brainer for producers," said the insider.

"Miley did bring in a younger audience but she did not generate the kind of buzz that Gwen did by being on the show with Blake," the insider said.

"Miley did not get along with the cast and the crew as well, either," the source told RadarOnline.com.

But all is not lost for Cyrus. She took to her Twitter after being ousted by Stefani to announce that — although she isn't returning next season — she will be back for Season 13 in the fall! According to the insider, "They offered Miley the gig for Season 13 because they know it would keep her happy, and that she would not create any drama over being replaced by Gwen."
