When Demi Moore posed naked for Vanity Fair in 1991 while cradling her baby bump the image was provocative. Now every actress, pop singer and reality TV star wants to show the world what she looks like pregnant and naked. Take a look at these 15 who flaunted their bare baby bumps — and everything else!
Pregnant with her second child – a girl – Christina Aguilera is a repeat offender. The blonde has just appeared in a photo shoot for V magazine proudly showing off her figure. Aguilera, who looks like she is about to give birth at any minute, struck a similar pose in 2008 on the front cover of Marie Claire while pregnant with her son Max.
Jessica Simpson was pregnant and proud when she appeared naked on the cover of Elle in 2012. But apparently her photo offended shoppers in a Tucson, Arizona Safeway so much that someone put a piece of cardboard over the issue on the magazine rack, with the message "please do not remove" scrawled over it.
Demi Moore is the woman who kicked the whole trend off in the early 1990s when half the celebrities who followed suit were in their teens. Celebrated photographer Annie Leibovitz took the picture of Moore when she was seven months pregnant with her second child Scout LaRue Willis. The actress later said she felt "glamorous, beautiful and more free about my body."
Like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears loved doing cover shoots while pregnant so much that she did it twice. The first time the pop princess bared it all was for a 2006 cover of Harper's Bazaar. The same year, in another pregnant pose, she showed off her belly while wearing a cute red and white polka-dot bikini for the cover of British music magazine, Q.
In 2010 Paula Patton did two cover shots for Ebony magazine while pregnant with her son Julian. One featured the actress wearing a dress and in the other one her chest and nether regions were covered in chiffon draped across her skin.
Actress Nia Long was a lot more daring when she posed naked for Ebony in 2011. The Best Man actress looked regal on the front cover of the magazine. In the accompanying interview she said: "I honestly asked God for this baby."
Alessandra Ambrosio was wearing something – and working – when she posed naked while pregnant in 2012. Donning an array of bling she was shooting an ad campaign for Brazilian jewelry company Vivara. The result was a ridiculously glamorous shot of a model who looked like she just ate too much for dinner.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford's naked pregnancy shot is quite arty. The June 1999 W Magazine cover photo was black and white with lots of shade covering the true extent of her bump.
Claudia Schiffer was nine months pregnant when she took the plunge while posing for the front cover of German Vogue. With tousled, just-got-of-bed hair, smoldering eyes and without a varicose vein or stretchmark in sight, she set a high standard for moms-to-be.
Life and Style
These days, most celebrities who strip off naked and pose while heavily pregnant look like they've swallowed a small cantaloupe. So it took some guts for Mariah Carey to show off her belly on the cover of Life & Style magazine while pregnant with twins. The singer said: "I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn't want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience."
Before Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber traded blows – allegedly over Miranda Kerr — she posed fully nude for the December 2010 issue of W Magazine while carrying her son with Bloom, Flynn.
Italian Vanity Fair
Monica Bellucci looked like she'd stepped out of a Renaissance painting when she appeared, pregnant and naked on the cover of Italian Vanity Fair in 2004.
"When it came down to it I had the opportunity to do something uncomfortable. I think that's an important part of life." That's what Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings had to say about posing naked – while pregnant and later cradling her baby – for ESPN magazine's body issue.
For Marisa Miller, posing in your birthday suit while with child was all about accentuating your curves. The model stripped off in 2012 for a series of shots for Allure magazine.
Tia Mowry-Hardrict felt sexy while she was pregnant with her son Cree. The actress and part-time reality TV star embraced "her sexuality" while posing for a nude photo that appeared in People magazine.
