These two might be an unlikely couple – but Susie the boxer dog and Tabitha the piglet have become best of friends.

Owner Wendy Valentine was left stunned after the pair struck up the unlikely friendship three weeks ago – and are now inseparable.

Wendy, who runs Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Norwich, Norfolk, rescued five-week-old Tabitha after she was discovered on the side of the road, at just a few hours old.

The animal-lover believes the podgy porker either escaped from a local pig farm – or alarmingly, may have fallen through the slats on a lorry as her mother gave birth on the way to the slaughterhouse.

But with a bit of TLC, Tabitha was fighting fit – and became inseparable from Wendys rescue dog, five-year-old Susie
