Klein claims Obama “had to win Michelle’s approval by living up to her exacting standards, and when he fell short, he suffered her devastating criticism, sarcasm, and cold rejection…”

“Although there was no question that Barack Obama loved his wife, their relationship was fraught with tension,” he writes. “To begin with, Michelle never let him forget that it was she, not he, who had made all the sacrifices in the marriage. And that she’d had to accommodate to a life that was not what she had envisioned for herself.”

Even in Obama’s first term, he claims, “they were frequently at each other’s throats.” As a solution, Klein says they “agreed to use separate bedrooms — an arrangement that continues to this day.”

They even “discussed their problems with a physician,” he claims, “but they refused his suggestion to take anti-depressants to reduce their stress and anxiety.”

One issue? Michelle “has never forgiven him for giving the State Department to Hillary Clinton,” Klein quotes a source as saying, “and she blames every bad thing that happens in the world on Hillary’s incompetence.”

“When Michelle and Barack are fighting, everyone in the White House is aware of it, and walks on eggs,” Klein quotes the source as saying.

According to Klein, Michelle once “fired one staff member whom she said gave her a headache every time she saw her. She fired another just for looking at Barack too often.”

“Michelle is obsessed with jealousy over Barack,” the source claims. “She thinks he would like to be a ladies’ man like JFK, and she knows movie stars throw themselves at him whenever they get a chance.” 

The source even claims, “Michelle pulls tricks like bursting in on meetings with women to see if she can catch Barack in a compromising position.”

“Barack gets so fed up with her behavior that he actually encourages Michelle to take separate planes when they go on vacation, so he doesn’t have to fly with her,” the insider claims.

He’s also been known to encourage her to take trips alone with the girls, according to the book.

And according to Klein, the couple slept in separate bedrooms during a recent family getaway to Martha’s Vineyard.

“I didn’t see much warmth between the president and the first lady at all,” an eyewitness from that trip told Klein. “They almost seemed to avoid each other. When the president was going on about something, Michelle would put on her earphones and listen to her iPod. She tuned him out. And they didn’t do much together.”

Klein claims that the Obamas’ drama even bled over to their daughters, and that staffer Valerie Jarret had to step in. He writes, “She explained to Sasha and Malia what tremendous pressure their parents were under.”

Klein also claims Jarret acted as an envoy for the couple during their fights, ferrying messages between the pair.
