Anna Paquin’s Star Style Evolution

Anna Paquin — who just revealed that she’s bisexual in a new PSA campaign for the True Colors Fund — was an immediate hit in Hollywood, winning an Academy Award at the age of eleven, for her debut acting performance in The Piano.

Accepting the Oscar, dressed head to toe in blue, the child actress spent the following years focused on her acting chops, paying little attention to achieving style icon status and landing herself on several Worst Dressed lists. Slowly, Anna¹s style began to evolve and within time, she has become a style icon.

Anna spent a number of years wearing eccentric and offbeat ensembles, which were panned by fashion critics, but around 2006, the actress stepped it up a notch, glamming up the red carpet with sophistication and grace. The actress sported monochromatic mode from Giambattista Valli, Badgley Mischka, J. Mendel and Chanel, establishing herself within the style set.

After announcing her engagement to True Blood costar Stephen Moyer, Anna experienced the defining point of her evolution, and she finally found her true colors — literally.

This awards season, the confident star pulled off nearly impossible looks, introducing bursts of color and psychedelic patterns into her wardrobe, which she has never dared to wear. At the 12th Annual Costume Designers Gala, Anna dropped jaws in a Marios Schwab mini, later following it up with a bursting gold, Stella McCartney embellished gown at the Golden Globes, which featured a revealingly low cut neckline. At the SAG Awards, Anna shocked by wearing an Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 mini in a nightmare instilling print.
