Cheryl Holton told RadarOnline.com exclusively that she couldn’t believe the way Jolie had acted since filing for divorce on September 15. Holton, 66, first met Brad in the late 80s when he landed a small part in the TV show Dallas alongside her daughter, Shalane McCall, and said she doesn’t believe he has turned into a monster as he has been portrayed.

Holton believes that Jolie "ambushed him" with the divorce news, she said. "She probably went to a lawyer and asked what did she need to do to get physical custody of the kids and, the lawyer told her to provoke him."

“She had a house where she has been staying with the children since the news broke already rented," Holton claimed. "She put this whole scenario together quite a while ago. What a snake!"

Jolie and Pitt reportedly were met on the tarmac and interviewed by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services DCFS on the day of the alleged altercation at the center of their split, after an anonymous call came from on-board the plane accusing Pitt of violence.

Holton added she was upset over how the divorce has played out in public, adding, “I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. But knowing how close to the chest he holds his cards, how private he is, it had to be her."

“To me she has just made herself a Hollywood cliché - the completely transparent, lying, hateful evil partner and diminished herself in the eyes of the world," Holton slammed.

The couple have six children: Maddox, 14, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

Holton told RadarOnline.com that Pitt "wouldn’t harm a fly. He will always put the best interests of his kids first, and he will always be a good father to them, I am very sure of that.”

“I feel he’s the one maintaining a dignified silence at the moment in this divorce," she said.

“I like both Brad and Angelina, I think they’re both wonderful actors and people. But he’s never had an anger management problem, he’s one of the nicest, most respectful people there is,” she continued.

Holton said Pitt – who was a fresh faced 23-year-old when he was on Dallas - was wrongly thought to be dating her daughter, 15 at the time, when they starred on TV together. However, Pitt’s character, Randy, was the boyfriend of Randy, Shalane's character Charlie Wade, on the show. He appeared in four episodes that aired in 1987 and 1988.

Holton maintains Pitt was always respectful and “treated her like a mom,” and even pitched in to do odd jobs around their house. She said, “He put my daughter’s art desk together in her room and put up some levellers. Anything I asked him to do to help us he did. He was a sweetheart. I can’t say enough good things about him.”

Holton points out even though Pitt admitted to smoking marijuana in the past, he’s one of the few people who have made it in Hollywood but never gone off the rails. In the wake of the private jet incident, he voluntarily took a blood and alcohol test to show he has nothing to hide.

She explained, “I have seen a couple of pictures of him when he looked like he’d had a few beers, but he doesn’t have a reputation as someone who ever went off the rails."

“I have seen no change in him over the years since – he’s always been the same Brad through and through," she insisted. "I’ve never seen any dramatic changes in him at all.

“He’s stayed steady. He’s a very laid back guy,” Holton said about Pitt. “I feel it would take a lot to set him off, and I’ve never seen it happen or heard of anyone else talk about him getting angry. I’m not here to flatter anyone. This is just the truth.”

“Everything he does he commits himself fully, he gives 100 per cent,” she told RadarOnline.com about Pitt. “I was really hoping he would stay together with Angelina, but I don’t know if anybody is really perfectly suited to anybody else.
