John McCain's Enemy List
Will anyone in the surging candidate's arsenal of
adversaries manage to head him off come November?

1. Ann Coulter
A powerful combination of McCain hatred and press-sluttery has taken the conservative pundit to strange place: Hillary Clinton supporter. She really dislikes how McCain lies all the time though she admits that she understands why he does it: "I might lie constantly, too, if I were seeking the Republican presidential nomination after enthusiastically promoting amnesty for illegal aliens, social security credit for illegal aliens, criminal trials for terrorists, stem-cell research on human embryos, crackpot global warming legislation, and free speech-crushing campaign finance laws." So she at least sees where he's coming from.

BUM RUSHED Limbaugh

2. Rush Limbaugh
The big bopper of conservative talk radio has carpet-bombed his listeners with lots of anti-McCain talk, because, in his view, the Arizona senator is a liberal who "lie(s) all the time while claiming to engage in straight talk."
Bob Dole has asked Limbaugh to lighten up on McCain, and we're pretty sure it's gonna work. It's Bob Dole for Chrissakes!

3. Jack Abramoff
The corrupt super-lobbyist can't do much about his longstanding beef with McCain because he's in jail. Guess who helped put him there? Probably shouldn't have sent that e-mail to
Ralph Reed with
"Were you able to whack McCain's wife yet?" in the subject header.

TWIST OF 'CAIN Cornyn
(Photo: Getty Images)
4. Sen. John Cornyn
When the Texan objected in a meeting to McCain's take on immigration reform, McCain exploded, "Fuck you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room!" Cornyn then ran crying into the arms of Sen.
Trent Lott, who tenderly consoled him and gave him a lollipop.

5. Tom DeLay
The former House majority leader has called McCain a "hypocrite" and said he "might have to sit this one [election] out" if McCain gets the nomination. He also claims that "McCain has done more to hurt the Republican party that any elected official I know of." This is really offensive to DeLay, who did so much to help the GOP by seeding the clouds of corruption that enveloped and decimated Capitol Hill Republicans.

Drudge has shown himself a reliable ally of McCain haters by constantly spotlighting bad McCain stories.
Even if they're almost a year old.

ZERO ON THE RICK-TER SCALE Santorum
(Photo: Getty Images)
7. Former Sen. Rick Santorum
Even though McCain campaigned for Santorum during his doomed re-election bid in 2006, the former senator now says that "John McCain was not only against us, but leading the charge on the other side" when they served together in the Senate. He's recorded an automated phone call for Romney that raises questions about McCain's bad temper. McCain is of course so furious about this betrayal that he can hardly see straight.

8. John Dowd
The lawyer pal who stuck it out with McCain through his troubles with the Keating Five scandal
and Cindy McCain's little drug problemo. Still, like many people, he couldn't resist the intoxicating allure of Fred Thompson and ditched Johnny, saying, "we lost the John McCain I knew." Then again, he
gained a John McCain who probably hates him.

BUCKLEY'S BRIGADE NR
9. The National Review Posse
Wondering how many times John McCain's crashed a plane or if his low grades at the Naval Academy mean anything about how he'd govern? The flagship magazine of the conservative movement has contemplated these weighty questions recently on its multi-contributor blog.
NR contributor
Mark Levin issued this call to unite all conservative behind Romney against the man he refers to as "John McLame." Such wicked cleverness!

GROVER IT Norquist

10. Grover Norquist
The beady-eyed tax-cutter has called McCain a "traitor to the conservative cause" and a "nutjob from Arizona." McCain's retort can be found in a report meticulously documenting all of
Norquist's sleazy dealings with pal Jack Abramoff. Norquist now says he'd be happy to endorse McCain in the general election provided he promises to not raise taxes. Which is exactly what you should say if your sworn enemy is on the cusp of becoming a million times more powerful than you.

MOUTH OF THE BORDER Malkin
(Photo: Getty Images)
11. Michelle Malkin
The conservative pundit has taken aim at McCain's stance on immigration, by calling him a "shamnesty peddler" and exposing the truly
shocking and offensive story about McCain's Hispanic outreach director. That McCain son of a bitch has been trying to get Hispanic votes! Tell the world, Michelle.

FOOL ON THE HILL Bosse

12. David Bossie
This hard-charging private investigator was essentially the Boba Fett of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" during the Clinton presidency. Bossie and his Citizens United interest group are focused more on promoting their
new anti-Hillary Clinton film, but they did have time to put out this commercial trashing
surprisingly
liberal John McCain.

RADIO GA-GA Ingraham

13. Laura Ingraham
This talk-radio lady tut-tutted McCain for making "enemies out of the very people he now expects to carry him to the White House." Ingraham also said she's "concerned about the mental stability of the McCain campaign" over the sound of cuckoo-clocks, a bit she blatantly ripped off from an old Looney Tunes cartoon.

FOX JOCKHannity

14. Sean Hannity
Hannity made the mistake of joking about supporting John McCain. Many humorless followers of the Fox News guy and
talk-radio bulldog went ballistic. Relax conserva-nerds, he was just kidding! Remember, he
finally endorsed Romney.

NO COMMENT Redstate
15. RedState.com
The influential Republican blog has taken issue with McCain's departures from conservative orthodoxy. "I want my party back," lamented one contributor after McCain's Florida victory. While the writer's differences with McCain are respectfully couched, they have had to
ban commenters who can't resist snarking about the bad
immigration policies of "Juan McCain."

NOT PEACHY KEENE David

16. David Keene
McCain has routinely skipped the Conservative Political Action Conference hosted by Keene and his American Conservative Union. Though McCain will be speaking at the big shin-dig annual
this weekend, Keene predicts that relations between conservatives and McCain will remain "testy."

TRIGGER HAPPY GOA
17. Gun Owners of America
The group that finds the National Rifle Association too soft not surprisingly thinks McCain is all wrong on the Second Amendment. Perhaps owing to that
commercial he did on trigger locks. They've returned in kind with a
Web page focused on McCain's gun-grabby ways.

BE AGGRESSIVE Cochran (l.)
(Photo: Getty Images)
18. Sen. Thad Cochran
The Mississippi Republican recently claimed that McCain's hot-headedness "worries me." But Cochran is a
former male cheerleader, so this kind of scaredy-cat stuff is to be expected.

Jack is striking back by having all his pals work for Romney.
If Tom sits this out it will be in a hottub full of coke.
Romney stole the love of Santorum's gal K-LO, shouldn't he oppose him?
We have a horrible secret out here in Arizona that transcends political party lines and fires a deadly arrow directly into the heart of ethics.
The entire state government has kept secret from our Arizona citizens the loss of of millions of dollars earmarked for our poor and Elderly (Medicaid funds) through the National Century Financial Enterprises (NCFE) bankruptcy in 2002.
The Arizona state government had invested heavily in NCFE's asset-backed securities scam (the only state to do so) and lost it all. This has resulted in highly inferior care for our elderly people who depend upon Medicaid services.
I have a letter signed by John McCain in which he states that he "knows nothing about it" and "cannot interfere in affairs of the counties." (I disagree with both statements; the counties' investments were made through the Arizona State Treasurer's Office, and documents from the Schiller Institute, among others, report that he knew all about it.)
I, myself, suffered a terrible loss as a woman in business. My business was swept away and "given" to another company (a company that is a division of the huge corporate entity, United Health) in return for Evercare (the other company) carrying their own payroll for awhile. The loss was not only monetary, but personal. My husband of twenty-five years shot himself in the head in the aftermath, and my business partner, a young black woman, lies dying, on hospice services, because all she had worked for was literally stolen from her by the state.
The general population our state does not know what hit them.
I count on your courage in journalism to reveal all this and prevent John McCain's election as President of the United States.
I have hurriedly put all I know about this, as well as my personal struggles through this closely guarded "dirty secret," on a blog site, praying for help. The blog is not in readable order yet (because I fired all the documents into it at once), but please have someone read it for you if you do not have time. The site also contains reports about this from national sources, as well as the actual minutes from the Cochise County Board of Supervisors meeting of March 18, 2003, in which they admit that they "took" money from the private bank accounts of the wards of the Public Fiduciary's office.
