'Suicidal' 'Flip Or Flop' Star's 'Crying & Shaking' Wife Begged Cops To Save Him
HGTV star Christina El Moussa was "crying and shaking" as she pleaded with police to save her "possibly suicidal" husband, Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa. Those details and more disturbing secrets from the scene of the horrifying incident are revealed in a new Orange County Sheriff's Department document obtained by RadarOnline.com.
As RadarOnline.com reported, the El Moussa's announced they were splitting today, several months after a disturbing May 23, 2016, incident at their home.
On that date, "at approximately 3:45 p.m., Sheriff's personal responded to a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun," the Sheriff's report obtained by RadarOnline.com states.
Christina told the authorities that she had "received a call from her friend at about 3:30 pm," the documents state. "The friend was in Christina's bedroom and saw Tarek take a handgun from the safe, place it in his backpack and leave the room. She asked him what he was doing, but he did not answer."
The friend claimed that Tarek "did not make any threatening statements," the documents state, and she "denied that Tarek had ever been suicidal."
Nevertheless, she said she had called "Christina and told her to leave the residence because Tarek had a gun."
Christina then called the cops, and was "crying and shaking" as she waited for them to arrive.
Once at the scene, the sheriffs ordered a helicopter to track down Tarek, who was eventually found "on the mountainside" nearby. They addressed him via the copter's "PA speaker," and he returned home to speak with deputies.
He "stated that he did not have any intentions of hurting himself and he did not make any suicidal comments."
Instead, he "said he wanted to 'blow off some steam,' so he went hiking into the hills. He stated he took his gun for safety because of mountain lions and rattlesnakes in the area."
Tarek voluntarily gave up all of his firearms. Cops will keep his five guns for 30 days: a Kahr K9 handgun; Pietro Baretta; Springfield EMP 9mm; Stag Arms AR 15, and Ruger GP 100 .357.
HGTV has no plans to cancel Flip or Flop in the wake of the incident, a rep told RadarOnline.com.
Meanwhile, the couple announced today that they are divorcing.
