The 38-year-old actor – who's in the running for a Golden Globe for his role in The Imitation Game and collecting Oscar buzz – is thrilled and excited about becoming a dad, sources told PageSix.
Reports also claim that the laid back couple may be planning to marry sooner than expected – possibly in the next few months!
“Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it,” one source shared. “They are also planning to marry in early spring.”
Cumberbatch and Hunter quietly announced their engagement the old-fashioned way with a classy notice in the Times of London in early November.
Hearts broke around the world at the news that “Sherlock” was no longer available, but congratulations are certainly in order for the happy couple. Maybe wedding bells will ring along with a possible baby!
