Reese Witherspoon is reveling in Oscar buzz for her new movie Wild, but behind the scenes she’s preparing for a grueling two-day deposition in her lawsuit against a jewelry company.

RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that the 38-year-old actress must appear in court on Dec. 11 and 12 in the suit she filed last year against Marketing Advantages International, owners of the website Emitations.com.

Witherspoon alleges that the site used her image without permission to hawk their jewelry and other products, which she claims included a knockoff of her engagement ring.

Making matters more complicated for the star, Marketing Advantages International’s insurance provider filed their own federal lawsuit against Reese to try to get a judgment absolving them of having to pay damages if their client is found liable. The insurers claim the policy they underwrote with Marketing Advantages International doesn’t cover lawsuits like the one Witherspoon filed.

On Nov. 18 legal documents were filed stating that Witherspoon must sit for the two-day deposition next week — despite her already packed schedule from promoting Wild. She can expect the jewelry company to demand to know just how much she rakes in from endorsement deals and why she believes her image is worth so much to consumers.
