Upcoming Book ‘On Duty with the Queen’ Has Prince Charles ‘Furious’ Over Ex-Royal Aide’s Disloyalty

On Duty with the Queen, an upcoming book revealing Buckingham Palace secrets from a one-time top official — including Prince Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana — has the 65-year-old nobleman “furious” at what he believes to be a betrayal of the highest order.
“This man was a trusted friend,” an insider told the Sunday Mirror of Dickie Arbiter, the queen’s ex-press secretary of a dozen years. “It is just a case of a man who he thought was a friend and who could be trusted cashing in on the misery of that time.

Arbiter’s tome, set to hit shelves in two months, teases it will present an accurate account of “the most turbulent timeframe in the history of the modern British monarchy,” and “candid look behind-the-scenes of the most sensational and salacious royal stories.”
“This is not just a memoir of an intense dozen years but is a story of a life, my life and it’s been quite an extraordinary one,” Arbiter, 73, said of the book, adding that it will “delve into the dark days” of Diana prior to her tragic death in the summer of 1997.
