Duggar patriarch, Jim Bob Duggar, 49, reveals Seewald recently left his parent’s home four hours away in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to come live in Tontitown. “We have a guesthouse in front of our house, with a shower and everything, separate from the main house,” reveals Duggar of his future son-in-law’s new digs.
Seewald, 19, is now working for the Duggars to earn his keep in order to be closer to his future bride, who he proposed to on August 14 after 11 months of courtship.
“We have so many projects to do that we need help for—everything from construction projects to keeping the grass mowed to putting roof on a building, paperwork and things like that—and we asked him if he would be interested in moving up here so that Jessa and his relationship could be really accelerated,” says Duggar, noting that Seewald “was all for it and his parents were happy about it ”
There’s little chance for the couple to spend time alone with so many people always around the Duggar compound— not that they would if they could!
Seeward and his 21-year-old soon-to-be wife have revealed that holding hands was out of the question until the got engaged, and they insist they will wait until their wedding day to share their first kiss.
“It is a little more labor intensive for Dad,” notes the elder Duggar of monitoring his daughter’s courtship. “We did set a curfew. By midnight, every night, we need to make sure everybody is back in their place.”
So far everything has gone without a hitch.
“It has been really good,” says Duggar. “He has been able to spend a lot more time with Jessa and our family.”
