Farmer Chris has some competition! While RadarOnline.com previously reported that Andi Dorfman’s hunky cast-off Chris Soules was chosen to be the next Bachelor, producers are now also considering a fan-favorite Bachelorette alum to front the ABC hit’s next season, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. is now in the running to be the next Bachelor,” a racing buddy of the Indy Light Series champ and Emily Maynard runner-up exclusively tells RadarOnline.com. “Producers have already filmed him at home in Arizona, and they even sent a personal trainer to get him in shape for TV. They think he’d be perfect.”

Maynard may have left the blue-eyed Netherlands native high and dry, but the 32-year-old remained active in the franchise: Luyendyk, who was last reported to be dating Bachelor alum Selma Alameri, appeared on Bachelor Pad in 2012 and often tweets about The Bachelorette’s current season.

“My #TheBachelorette drinking game for tonight: every time a guy wears a scarf I will chug a bottle of Cabernet,” he cheekily tweeted during the “Men Tell All” special on July 21.

Though another potential Bachelor has entered the mix, a show insider insists Soules, 32, is still a strong contender.

“Producers are flying Chris out to meet with Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss,” the production source says.
