Beyoncé and Jay-Z, after having spent much of the year engulfed in scandal, shifted the focus back to what brought them to the dance in the first place on Wednesday at Miami Gardens’ Sun Life Stadium as they debuted their On the Run tour.

The debut show was lauded by both fans and critics for its’ hybrid of glamour, fashion, sex appeal, and of course, music, with the two Grammy-winning superstars earning their money with the concert extraordinaire.

“Between the visuals, the outfits, the stage setup, the pyrotechnics and the insane setlist,” Rolling Stone’s Daniel Kreps wrote, “they provided enough hits and eye candy to make the Miami audience forget all about LeBron James opting out of his Heat contract.”

As we previously reported, the couple has spent much of the 2014 under the microscope for the now-infamous elevator run-in between Solange and Jay-Z following May’s Met Ball, and scattered reports of serious marital discord.

They responded in saying they had moved on as a family, and on Wednesday, it looked as if any outstanding issues had been put to bed.
