It's oh so difficult being pretty.  At least Rob Lowe thinks so.

"There's this unbelievable bias and prejudice against quote-unquote good-looking people, that they can't be in pain or they can't have rough lives or be deep or interesting.," the Parks and Recreation star told the New York Times.

Lowe does admit, though, that as a member of the Brat Pack when he was a teen idol was a teen idol, "I was so goddamn pretty I wouldn't have taken myself seriously."

Lowe has just wrapped production on a big screen comedy, Sex Tape, starring Cameron Diaz  and Jason Segal.  It's a topic he knows a lot about. Lowe's career was derailed for years when a sex tape he made leaked out in 1989.

Unlike more current celebs who make sex tapes specifically to make money - does Farrah Abraham come to mind? - Lowe had nothing to do with the release of the tape that showed him and a buddy taking turns having sex with two girls, one of whom turned out to be 16.

Lowe later said the tape going public was the "greatest thing" to ever happen to him because it pushed him into sobriety, something he's maintained every since.

"Considering I pioneered the field, it's high time I actually made some money in it.," Lowe joked to the Times.
