Clueless! Alicia Silverstone Bashed For New Book Advising Against Vaccines, Diapers And Tampons

Alicia Silverstone is being slammed for numerous controversial comments made in her new book, "The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide To Supercharged Fertility, A Radiant Pregnancy, A Sweeter Birth, And A Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning." And yes, that's really the book's title!
This isn't the first time the former Clueless star has stirred up criticism for her parenting style but the sheer volume of advice seemingly based solely on anecdotes or her own opinions have many up in arms.
Her stand on vaccines, with no scientific support, is particularly troublesome to many upset readers.
In it, Silverstone writes, “While there has not been a conclusive study of the negative effects of such a rigorous one-size-fits-all, shoot-’em-up schedule, there is increasing anecdotal evidence from doctors who have gotten distressed phone calls from parents claiming their child was 'never the same' after receiving a vaccine. And I personally have friends whose babies were drastically affected in this way.”
But Silverstone doesn't stop with vaccines.
She's somehow come up with the idea that tampons make women infertile!
Writing that a woman's "chichi is the most absorbent part" of her body, she goes on to say, “Unfortunately, feminine-care manufacturers aren’t required to tell you what’s in their products, which means that no one’s talking about the potential pesticide residues from non-organic cotton and the ‘fragrances’ containing hormone-upsetting, fertility-knocking phthalates that are snuggling up to your hoo-ha.”

The occasional actress also claims that a vegan diet will help prevent postpartum depression and that she had her son potty trained at the age of six months. Apparently she ran him outside to pee or poop in the grass -- much like you might with a new puppy -- every time she determined from one of his facial expressions that he had to go.
Oh, and she also wants new moms to digest their placenta, even suggesting chopping it up into smoothies!
On the plus side, Silverstone is a big supporter of breastfeeding, something all doctors agree on, but she takes it to a whole new level writing, "breast milk is also the ultimate cure-all for almost every ailment that might come up in baby’s early days. It’s a natural antibiotic and has almost otherworldly power to both soothe and heal."
Wrote one disgusted customer who bought the book and then reviewed it on Amazon.com, "Irresponsible wacko" and another who simply said, "This is a dangerous book!"
