Little People Big World Heartbreak: Wife Amy Is ‘Saddened’ By Separation & Admits ‘It Is Not My Choice’

The Little People Big World couple announced that they are living apart and have entered into a trial separation, but in a sneak peek of a special show, wife Amy Roloff admits that Matt moving out was not her choice.

The TLC reality show stars have been married for 26 years, but Matt finally decided that he needed some space and decamped to another house on their expansive property.

Amy and I are separated,” Matt says in the clip obtained by RadarOnline.com.

“Last year it was long, long and tough. Amy and I had a lot of tensions. Right around Thanksgiving I moved over to the bridal house for a little bit, we’ll try that. Amy and I stuck it out for years when maybe we shouldn’t have.”

Revealing that they weren’t always happy, Matt explains his drastic measures.

“I never quite felt quite at home in my own home. Something needed to change, we needed to trying something differ,” so he chose a “trial separation,” which was not the choice his wife would have made.

“I think what Matt and I failed to do over many many years was learn to live together,” Amy explained and revealed her heartbreak over his leaving.

“It is not my choice for him to leave. I am saddened by it. it’s been 26 years. We don’t have a plan as to how we’re going to work this out. It’s not going to be easy.”

Little People Big World special with the family will air on TLC on March 25 at 9/8c.
