An Iowa educator shed 37 pounds, and lowered his cholesterol levels, over three months eating nothing but items off McDonald's menu, RadarOnline.com has learned.

John Cisna, a science teacher at Colo-Nesco High School, was inspired on to the eating experiment by Super Size Me, the 2004 documentary in which Morgan Spurlock packed on pounds and fell sick after eating only under the golden arches for a month.

Where Cisna's experiment forked from Spurlock's, was that the teacher limited himself to 2,000 calories daily -- taking into account the restaurant's recommendations for daily intake of carbohydrates, proteins, fat calories and cholesterol -- and exercised 45 minutes a day.

Cisna described to KCCI his regimen, saying he started off with low-cal selections such as egg white delights, salads, and oatmeal, then usually went for the franchise's signature items for dinner.

"I had the Big Macs, the quarter pounders with cheese. I had sundaes, I had ice cream cones. I can eat any food at McDonald's I want as long as I'm smart for the rest of the day with what I balance it out with."
