Housewives stars have a tortured history of home ownership with several of them losing millions on mansions but that isn't stopping Joe  and Melissa Gorga from building themselves a monster of a new abode.

"Here it is! Coming soon. Waiting on permits!" Joe wrote on this week as he showed off architectural sketches of the new mansion he'll share with Melissa.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, in June, 2012, the pair listed their Tom's River, NJ house for $500,000 even though public records showed they had taken out a $2.25 million loan against the place!  That big loan had been used by property developer Joe to build a colonial style home in Montville Township that they moved into after becoming Housewife stars but -- as Radar  revealed -- they soon discovered they couldn't afford to maintain!

The couple unloaded that house in August for $3.8 million.  It's unknown how much they owed on the house.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars are now living in a rental property while designing the new place.

Hopefully, they'll do better with their next property than some of their Bravo colleagues.

Melissa's sister-in-law and former enemy, Teresa Giudice, and her husband Joe lost a house to foreclosure.  Jacqueline Laurita also faced foreclosure on her home before working out a loan modification with her lender.
