Lena Dunham's long-awaited appearance on the pages of Vogue was released Wednesday, though not without a bit of controversy: The Girls creator seems to be heavily airbrushed in one of the shots, and the cover shows only her face, and none of her figure.

She tweeted at the magazine Thursday, "Dear @voguemagazine: Thank you. Love, Lena."

On the front of the February issue -- taken by the great Annie Leibovitz -- Dunham is clad in a red polka dot shirt. In the mag, Dunham, 27, is lauded as having "brilliantly captured the anxieties and ambitions of a generation" with her contributions to the show, which she writes, and also stars in as lead character Hannah Horvath.
