Hollywood icon Peter O'Toole has died.

O'Toole earned eight Oscar nominations for such film classics as Lawrence of Arabia, The Lion in Winter and My Favorite Year.  He never took home the acting honor but was given the Honorary Academy Award in 2003.

Born in County Galway, Ireland, he lived most of his life in London where he often appeared on stage.

In his younger days, he was also a legendary partier with his acting pals Richard Burton  and Richard Harris.
