Bernie Madoff put the screws to plenty of people with his $65 billion-dollar Ponzi flimflam, it made sense he had a four-foot sculpture of a screw erected in his New York office during the salad days.

With that said, Manhattan Federal Court Judge Laura Taylor Swain, who's overseeing the fraud and tax evasion trial of five of Madoff's one-time underlings, has prohibited prosecutors from showing images of the giant screw to the jury.

Defense attorney Eric Breslin said that prosecutors were attempting "to prove the sculpture meant something" by trying to have it admitted as evidence. Also not admissible, the judge said, was evidence tied to the 2010 suicide of Madoff's son, Mark.

Bernie, who's serving his 150-year sentence for his wrongdoings, reportedly liked to dust the screw, the NY Daily News reported.

The new trial begins Oct. 7.
