Teresa Giudice once filed for bankruptcy but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that one way she supplements her income is that she gets paid cash to make personal appearances.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is one of the highest paid ladies of all the franchises, but a source said that she makes big bucks when she shows up for certain promotional events.

“Teresa will go to a book signing or a café or party and she gets paid cash by people that arrange her appearance, not Bravo but other people,” a source close to the reality star said.

“She shows up, she gets a lot of attention for the place and then at the end of the night she’s given an envelope and that is cash for her. Straight cash, not a check or anything.”

The source said that Teresa has been a big draw and that she would have an agreement that she would get paid for the appearances.

“Teresa had the arrangement made in advance and she was given the cash at the end of the event, if it was a book signing it would be just cash on top of the profits from the book. Or if it was a boutique opening or party at a store she would get paid for that too.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Teresa and her hubby Juicy Joe Giudice filed for bankruptcy to get her family out of their financial troubles.

“In bankruptcy, you are able to start your life again — and that’s exactly what I’m doing. Just because you do bankruptcy doesn’t mean you have to crawl and die in a hole,” Teresa said on the show in 2012.

“Am I terrified of being poor? I don’t think I’ll ever be poor. Because I am a hard worker and my husband’s a hard worker.”
