Country Singer Randy Travis Remains In Critical Condition With Heart Issues

UPDATE 2:02 p.m. -- A rep for Travis tells RadarOnline.com that contrary to reports, "Randy Travis has not undergone heart surgery. Travis is being treated for viral cardiomyopathy. Travis was admitted into a Texas hospital on Sunday and underwent placement of an IMPELLA peripheral left ventricular assist device for stabilization prior to transferring hospitals."

The Grammy winner remains in critical condition, the rep said. "We are very thankful to the fans for their love and support during this time."Country music singer Randy Travis remains in a Dallas, Texas hospital in critical condition Tuesday, RadarOnline.com has learned, as the 54-year-old battles heart problems.

Doctors are tending to the Grammy Award winner's viral cardiomyopathy, his publicist Kirt Webster said.

The North Carolina-born crooner is best known for tracks such as Forever and Ever, Amen and Three Wooden Crosses.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Randy has been battling alcohol and legal problems lately — arrested for driving while intoxicated during the Super Bowl last year, and he was again charged with driving while intoxicated and threatening law officers in after he crashed his car in Grayson County, Texas.
