Alyssa Milano On Surviving Being A Child Star: 'I Hope It's Talent' That Stopped Me From Getting 'Screwed Up'

Alyssa Milano believes that she managed to save herself from the fate of other child stars because of her talent.

The 40-year-old actress, who grew up in the public eye on the hit show Who’s The Boss, chats in the July 2013 issue of Maxim about how she survived child stardom and managed to have a successful career in Hollywood without any major issues – and RadarOnline.com has the details.

“I hope it’s talent,” the Mistresses star admits to the men’s magazine, when asked how she managed to survive child stardom, while other actors got “screwed up.”

“That was an era when TV child actors just didn’t work after their show was over. I think Christina Applegate and I are the only two who maintained some sort of career path past the shows that launched us.”

Milano, who welcomed her first child with her CAA agent husband David Bugliari in 2011, believes that the current crop of troubled child stars were doomed from theget-go.

“I have a great family, and I look at a lot of these kids who struggle in the industry and think they’d have struggled no matter what they did.”
