Will they be there for us again? Don't hold your breath.

Jennifer Aniston, appearing on Ellen Thursday, was dumbfounded when asked about rumors that the cast of Friends -- the comedy that launched her career into superstardom -- were set to reunite.

After Ellen DeGeneres asked the star -- who played the trend-setting Rachel -- if the gang was set to reconvene, the engaged beauty said she was hearing it there first.

"I just heard before you came out here," Ellen told Jen. "Like an hour ago, it is all over the Internet. There is a big rumor -- it started in Oklahoma."

Jen, 44, asked Ellen, "Did Matthew Perry start that?" to which Ellen joked, "Maybe so."

While he might not be playing Chandler Bing anytime soon, Perry is "coming back to co-host" with Ellen, the talk show host confirmed.

The show's creator Marta Kauffman lent more clarity to the situation earlier this week, telling E! that it would be impossible to construct cohesive storylines for the characters, all now in their 40s and long past the days of coffee house lounging.
