Max Factor Heir And Convicted Rapist Captured By Dog The Bounty Hunter Granted Sentencing Appeal

Andrew Luster, the Max Factor heir who was convicted of rape, has been granted a new sentencing hearing, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Luster, 49, was captured by Duane "Dog The Bounty Hunter" Chapman in Mexico in 2003 after fleeing the United States during his trial for the 20 counts of drug-induced rape, 17 counts of raping an unconscious victim and multiple counts of oral copulation and sodomy by use of drugs.

Because he wasn't present for his sentencing, the California Court of Appeal has previously denied Luster's attorneys request for appeal of his 124-year sentence.

But according to the Ventura County Star, Ventura County Superior Court Judge Kathryne Stoltz has scheduled a sentencing hearing for April 4 — but refused the requests for a new plea agreement offer and new trial.

Judge Stoltz ordered the hearing because she stated the court "failed to state specific reasons for imposing full consecutive sentences."

Dog the Bounty Hunter gained international attention for his nab of Luster, which was filmed by a two-man crew, and is coming out this year with a new reality show on CMT called Dog.
