On the heels of Rosie O’Donnell’s big baby news, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish reportedly have welcomed their second little one via surrogate – or did they?

A rep for the Rocket Man singer is now denying a story in Thursday’s New York Post that says the couple is the proud parents of a second child with the same California-based surrogate mother who bore their first son, Zachary, on Christmas Day 2010.

Hours after the NY Post story was picked up by several outlets on the web, the singer’s rep released a statement, saying: "Reports that Elton and David have had a second child are false."

Whether Elton and David are parents again is anyone’s guess. In past interviews,  the Don’t Go Breaking My Heart singer has gushed about being a father to Zachary, saying: "I think it changes everybody. It's the most wonderful thing that you could possibly go through. I regret a little bit that I didn't do it sooner, but he has changed our lives. Everything is about him now.

"He's gorgeous, he travels brilliantly, he so loves people, and it makes our lives. He's the icing on the cake."

Elton and David met in 1993 after a friend introduced them to one another at a dinner at the singer’s mansion. The  Goodbye Yellow Brick Road singer, 65, has said that Furnish, 50, helped him overcome his addictions to alcohol and drugs.

The couple formalized their relationship in a civil ceremony on December 21, 2005 at historic 17th century Guildhall in Windsor, England.
