Barbara Walters Has The Chicken Pox, Remains In Hospital

Barbara Walters has the chicken pox and remains in the hospital recovering, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

The View co-host, 83, has been in hospitalized since January 20 when she suffered a cut on her forehead after falling at an inauguration party and was transferred last week to a New York hospital.

"We want to give you an update on Barbara. You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood. Barbara has the chicken pox," Whoopi Goldberg said on The View Monday morning.

"She'd never had it as a child. So now she's been told to rest, she's not allowed any visitors. and we're telling you, Barbara, no scratching."

Barbara originally fell while at the Washington home of England's U.S. ambassador, Peter Westmacott.

"We love you. We miss you," Whoopi said.

"We just don't want to hug you."
