Robin Roberts is grateful and looking forward to celebrating the holidays with her Good Morning America family, who will help decorate a Christmas tree at her New York City apartment on Thursday, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Josh Elliott, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer and Sam Champion will be decorating Robin Robert’s Christmas tree at her New York City apartment today. Robin has been doing very well since her bone marrow transplant, but she will remain holed up in her home because she can’t risk getting the flu because her immune system is so very fragile right now, “a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

“Robin is looking forward to seeing her colleagues and celebrating the joy and spirit of the holiday season. Robin has so very much to be grateful for, and she is grateful for all of the well wishes she has gotten from the GMA family and viewers. GMA will be filming the tree decorating party and it will air on Friday morning,” the insider added.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Roberts, 52, was recently spotted leaving her Manattan apartment clad in a surgical mask as she went to a doctor’s appointment.

The brave broadcaster, who’s battling a blood and bone marrow disorder MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome), is wearing the mask as a precaution to prevent contact with hazardous germs, as her immune system weakened as a result of the ailment.

Roberts suffered a minor setback in her recovery when she was hospitalized last month to fight a latent virus that wasn’t responding to medication. After spending a week in the hospital, she was released and “continues to get better everyday. Robin is excited to get back to work as soon as she can,” the source said.
