After the judge threw out the lawsuit that Sam Lutfi had filed against Britney Spears and her parents, Lynne and Jamie, attorneys for the pop star decided that they would attempt to recoup legal fees incurred to defend themselves against Brit's one-time "manager," RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

"Britney and her family have incurred at least a million dollars in fees defending themselves against the ridiculous allegations in Sam Lutfi's lawsuit," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. "This lawsuit was filed three years ago and has been an emotional drain on Britney and her parents, especially her mom, Lynne. Team Spears will formally ask the judge in the very near future to order Lutfi to pay their legal fees. They don't expect  that Sam will be able to pay for the judgment if it's awarded, but they still want to proceed anyway."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, after hearing two and a half hours of arguments Thursday afternoon outside the presence of the jury, Judge Soussan Brugera dismissed the entire lawsuit against the Spears clan.

Lutfi was suing the Spears family for breach of contract, libel and defamation for comments Lynne made in a book about her life. Team Spears filed legal docs asking the judge to dismiss the lawsuit and said that Lutfi's claims of battery after Papa Spears allegedly punched him were bogus because, "Lutfi admitted that he was not marked or bruised by the touching and in fact, he felt like he was going to be fine."

As for claims of libel that Lynne allegedly made in her book about Lutfi, the court docs state, "Sam Lutfi is unable to point to any evidence let alone clear and convincing evidence, that Lynne Spears subjectively believes the questioned passages in her Book were false, or even entertained serious doubts respecting their truth. The evidence is unequivocal that Lynne relied on her own personal observations and what Sam Lutfi told her. Her testimony in this regard was clear, unequivocal and unshaken during cross examination."

Brit's one-time "manager" has already been ordered to pay nearly $200k to the Spears clan for fees incurred in getting a restraining order against him. Lutfi hasn't paid any of that outstanding debt.

Lutfi says he plans on appealing the judge's decision to throw out the entire lawsuit.
