Padma Lakshmi On Being A Single Mom, 'It Does Get Overwhelming Sometimes'

It’s not easy being a single mom with a thriving career!
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, who is a single mother to a two-year-old, reveals the hardships of juggling her career with being a mom in the November 2012 issue of More magazine, and RadarOnline.com has the details.
Lakshmi, who kept the identity of her daughter Krishna’s baby daddy, Adam Dell, quiet for several months, admits that it isn’t easy keeping it together as a single mom.
“It does get overwhelming sometimes,” she reveals, explaining that she de-stresses by reading magazines and newspapers after she puts her child to bed at night.
“The other thing that is a good stress reliever is going to the gym, but I haven’t made it there in, like, two months. I’m like a foie gras goose fatted up!”
Dismissing the notion that women can “have it all,” Lakshmi does believe she has a lot of “resources” that her mother didn’t and tries to focus on the positive things in her life.
“I have struggled with it. It’s not easy, but I have a great career, and I have my daughter. So what I don’t have is not as important to me as what I do have.”
